19th Century Coat of Arms of Baron Lloyd Kenyon | Contemporary Black and Gilt Frame

Antique engraving of the coat of arms of Lloyd Kenyon, 4th Baron of Kenyon. Details showing a lion crest above a shield with three crosses. Set between two female figures, representing Truth and Fortitude. The motto below in Latin - "Magnanimiter crucem sustine" - translates to "With heart, mind, and spirit uphold and bear the cross." This also serves as the motto for the religious Order of the Daughters of the King.

Lloyd Tyrell-Kenyon, 4th Baron Kenyon (1864–1927) was a prominent British landowner, Conservative politician, and public servant who served as a Lord-in-Waiting to three monarchs (Victoria, Edward VII, and George V). A staunch supporter of Welsh education and culture, he was Pro-Chancellor of the University of Wales and President of the National Museum of Wales.

Engraving is dated 1873 under the mat and was sourced from England. Matted and framed in contemporary black and gilt wood frame, with hanging wire and backing paper.

Also attached on the back is the Pedigree of Kenyon, dating back to the 12th century. This is housed in a plastic sleeve attached with linen mounting strips to the backing paper.
