Antique engraving of the coat of arms of Colonel Holden of Holden & Reedly. The crest shows two separate animals, with the shield divided with symbols of the cross, Tudor Rose, and lions rampant. Colonel Henry Holden of Reedly House, Lancashire, was born in 1824 and held a position of Lieutenant Colonel of the 13th Light Dragoons. 

The Latin motto "Nec temere nec timide" translates to "Neither timidly nor rashly." 

Engraving is dated 1873 under the mat and was sourced from England. Matted and framed in contemporary black and gilt wood frame, with hanging wire and backing paper.

Also included is a Pedigree of Holden of Holden, with lineage dating back to the 16th century. This is housed in a plastic sleeve and attached to the backing paper.
