Available is an antique ironstone platter from the mid 1850s in beautiful condition. The impressed backstamp shows a royal lion and unicorn crest and reads "Barrow & Co." This earthenware company operated in Longton, Staffordshire, England for only 3 years, between 1853-1856.
Border of the platter shows a scalloped border with octagonal edges. Heavy, thick ironstone with some light age spots and pitting. No cracks or chips found.
Design is consistent with known pattern "Adriatic" by Barrow & Co.
