Available is a small 19th century Chinese stoneware ginger jar in good antique condition. This round ginger jar is made of dark beige stoneware with blue-gray brush work decoration. Underglaze pitting, glaze pops and wear noted; see photos.
This jar was dug up from an old Victorian dump site in England. Countless jars of preserved ginger stems were exported to England from China in the 1800s, where they were discarded once used.
A lovely historical piece with rustic character and patina.
DIMENSIONS - 3" tall x 3" wide, 2" opening diameter; weighs 12 oz.
