Available is a 19th century Chinese stoneware ginger jar in excellent antique condition. This medium sized piece is a speckled warm brown color with blue stripe decoration on the body. Some wear and pitting over the surface, with craquelure throughout.
This jar was dug up from an old Victorian dump site in England. Countless jars of preserved ginger stems were exported to England from China in the 1800s, where they were discarded once used.
A lovely historical piece with rustic character and patina.
DIMENSIONS - 5" high x 5" wide; 2" opening diameter; weighs 15 oz.
