An amazing unfinished quilt top in vibrant fabrics, this is a great study piece for the fabric enthusiast and quilter. The top is crisp and unwashed, with precise piecing and handiwork shown.
MATERIALS
The quilt is pieced in the Broken Dishes pattern, also known as Old Tippecanoe. The fabrics are a brilliant mix of double pinks, homespun gingham, black overdye, shirting, dress fabrics and more. It is hand pieced with a mix of black and white thread. The top is unfinished, without backing, batting or binding.
CONDITION
Excellent vintage condition. No stains or holes noted. It has not been washed by me.
AGE
Exact age unknown. Likely made circa 1890s, based on fabrics and techniques used.
SIZE
Measures 61" x 46".
