Available is a lovely 1800s applique quilt, in worn yet usable condition.
MATERIALS
The quilt has applique blocks of 5 flowers emerging from a basket. The Turkey Red is vibrant; the light tan was likely a fugitive green dye that has faded out, typical of 19th century fabrics. Blocks are set in white fabric. Dense hand quilting in white thread throughout. White cotton backing. Lightweight thin batting.
CONDITION
Fair antique condition. Significant color loss from tan/green fabrics, as noted above. Scattered storage stains and fabric wear, especially along top border. Binding is worn. Condition suitable for display or repurposing.
AGE
Exact age unknown. Estimated date c1880 based on fabrics and techniques used. Found in Kansas.
