Vintage Industrial French 1940s Metal Mailbox

Available is a vintage metal mailbox from Paris. This piece of French history is a fascinating decor element that can be used so many ways. 

Mailbox is made of metal with worn black finish. Letter flap near top of front, with the words "Boite de Lettres" in raised gold finish. Top latch has a name plate "J. Delachanal Paris". Metal handle attached to top.

The back has a door flap that is currently unlocked and open. If you want it to be functional, it would be easy to get a key made to fit, as the latch is still functional.

Exact age unknown; estimated date c1940. Beautiful piece of French history.
