A primitive, richly hued quilt with lovely fabrics, this is a great farmhouse inspired piece.
MATERIALS
The quilt is in the classic 9 Patch pattern. Patchwork is a mix of homespun fabrics, wool, flannel, and cotton weaves. Alternate blocks are indigo resist dye prints. Sashing has a strip of blue plaid flannel along with the indigo fabric. The backing is a lovely brown and red paisley cotton. Lightweight thin cotton batting. Hand quilted in white thread in parallel diagonal lines. Machine bound.
CONDITION
Fair vintage condition. It has been carefully hand washed and air dried. There are several holes that go all the way through the quilt. Please review all photos.
AGE
Exact age unknown. Likely circa 1900 based on fabrics used. Found in Missouri.
SIZE
Measures 77" x 63".
