Antique oak and brass pull corkscrew with attractive details. The "Henshall" design used, featuring a turned wooden handle and a specific type of worm (screw), was first patented in 1795 by Reverend Samuel Henshall. Warm patina to the brass with cast geometric detail on the shaft. Space in one end of the handle originally held bristles, used to brush away dirt from a wine bottle's label.
Estimated age mid to late 19th century.
Lovely collector's bar item. Sourced from England.
