Available is a lovely early quilt with bright colors and interesting fabrics.
MATERIALS
The quilt is constructed of broken dish nine patch blocks set on point. The nine patch blocks are composed of dissected triangles. The sashing is a strong chrome yellow print, with setting blocks of Lancaster blue prints. Top and bottom borders have mid-19th century madder brown prints. Backing is homespun brown gingham. Binding is overdye green print. Lightweight cotton batting. Hand quilted in parallel lines in white thread.
CONDITION
Fair antique condition. Significant fabric thinning with several areas of exposed batting. Wear on binding. Scattered storage stains front and back. It has not been washed due to concerns with fabric integrity.
AGE
Exact age unknown. Estimated c1880s based on fabrics and techniques used. Found in Washington state.
