This antique wooden sloped box dates back to 1892, with carved date on the posterior surface. Measuring 18 inches wide, it functions as a lap desk, tabletop box, or document organizer for a study or library.

The box features hand carving on all sides. The top lid displays a symmetrical vine and scroll pattern bordered by a laurel leaf design. The sides show an interlocking diamond trellis pattern, and the front edge is finished with a geometric chain border.

The back panel is carved in deep relief with the year 1892 and the initials "J" and "M."

The hinged lid opens to an angled interior storage area. It includes a long removable wooden tray at the top, designed to hold pens, inkwells, and small desk accessories.

Condition: Antique condition with natural patina and age-appropriate surface wear. Features a front keyhole and brass lock latch (key not included).
