Produced by the renowned firm Griffen, Smith & Hill at the Etruscan Works in Phoenixville, Pennsylvania, this highly collectible "Begonia Leaf" dish is a masterful example of late Victorian botanical art pottery. Introduced around 1870, the design features exceptional high-relief modeling that captures the natural, asymmetric texture and softly ruffled edges of a true begonia leaf.

The impressed maker's mark has the monogram 'GSH', without the Etruscan label, indicating production c1870.

The dish showcases the classic, vibrant Etruscan glaze palette, where sunflower yellow and blush pinks melt seamlessly into a emerald green center, framed beautifully by a warm ochre-yellow and cream border.

Condition: This is a genuine 19th-century antique. Due to its age and the nature of soft-paste Majolica glazes, light surface crazing, micro-glaze flakes, or minor age wear may be present on the rim and underside. Small flea bites noted on one edge.
