Vintage French Floral Still Life By Boris Buchet '72

Available is an original oil painting of a striking floral still life. It is signed "B. Buchet '79" and was originally sourced in Paris.

Boris Buchet (1917-1999) was a prolific 20th century artist. Born of a Russian mother and French father, he worked out of the Montparnasse district in Paris. He studied at the Ecole de Beaux-Arts and exhibited at the Salon des Independants.

This vibrant still life portrays an arrangement of red flowers in a chinoiserie vase, set on a table against a pale blue background. Lovely impasto strokes and deft use of texture brings the scene to life. Painted on board. Signed in bottom left corner. Frame is gilt wood and new, with hanging wire in place.
