Vibrantly colored majolica jug with molded handle and a side profile of a Roman-styled soldier. Deep green and blue glazing, with brown border around the top and maroon interior. No maker's stamp, but design is attributed to majolica made in Wasmuel, Belgium, in the late 19th century.
Small chip on spout with coloring to match the brown glaze. Light crazing throughout. Otherwise good condition and beautiful display piece.
