Available is a vintage Ozark Skag pottery skag vase with warm swirls of tan and terracotta glaze.
Rich, warm tones with marbling, this vase is a perfect transitional accent for modern decor.
Ozark Skag is a type of swirled, marble-like pottery that originated in the Ozark region of the United States around the 1920s and 1930s. Created by blending and swirling different colored clays, the pottery often has a signature counter-clockwise swirl pattern and a non-fired, shellac-like finish.
It was produced to compete with other art pottery styles, such as Niloak Mission Swirl, and is considered a distinctive piece of American folk art, sometimes referred to as Ozark Roadside Tourist Pottery.
