Available is a set of two 10" ironstone dinner plates by Copeland. The brown transferware design shows an egret in flight, set against a backdrop of palm trees and leaves, with a small red and brown butterfly set on the rim. Handpainted overglaze colors highlight the design.

Pattern is called "Palms & Egret" and was produced by W.T. Copeland of Stoke, Staffordshire, England in the 1870s. Design features graceful birds and fauna popular of the Aesthetic Movement, which celebrated Asiatic themes and natural beauty.

Excellent condition. Light crazing and moderate staining, with glaze lines visible. No chips or cracks noted. Impressed backstamp identifying the maker is visible. One plate has a manufacture crease in the backside of the rim that is not visible from front and does not impact function or display.
