Available is a charming unframed painting with a homely farmyard scene. This oil on board depicts stone farm buildings with thatched roofs in the background. In the bottom left corner, a woman is feeding a flock of white chickens. Trees behind the buildings and farmyard implements enhance the quiet domesticity of the scene.
The brushwork has thick impasto layers, with warm muted colors. It is unsigned. The back label of the board dates the canvas to c1930. Handwritten notes on the label are somewhat obscured by paint drips.
Overall a lovely scene of English farm life. Sourced in England.
