Vintage Radiating Diamond Fields Pink Quilt, c1930

A stunning, unique vintage quilt with vibrant detail - one to display and study for collectors.

MATERIALS

The quilt is constructed in hexagon pieces in patchwork similar to Diamond Fields. The blocks are placed in a radiating pattern from a central yellow hexagon, to give it a radiating star appearance. It is meticulously hand pieced and quilted in white thread, with alternating rows of yellow, orange, printed florals, white and pink fabrics. 

The binding has staggered partial blocks on the sides with pink corners. The backing is light magenta pink. Very lightweight thin cotton batting.

CONDITION

Excellent vintage condition. No flaws found. Intact and clean. It has not been washed but is free of odors.

AGE

Exact date unknown. Based on fabric and technique, estimated date made is circa 1930. It came from a private quilt collection in West Des Moines, Iowa.

Measures 94" x 86".
